The Only Way to Save America

If the Democrat Party is not reduced to third-party status within the next few elections, the nation will break up into smaller countries. The only hope for America right now is one-party rule for at least 12 years. Outside of this, all is lost. Yes, I’m serious. Yes, I mean it. Yes, I would literally bet my house on this. And those who know me will understand how terrifyingly serious this analysis is. If a guy like me is saying something like this, we really are in serious trouble as a nation — serious trouble — like trouble not seen since just before the American Civil War.

The only thing that will work to save the United States is a Republican Party filled with #MAGA and #ChristianNationalism enthroning #ChristIsKing, or we can just hang it up now, because it’s over.

I plan to go down fighting for this. My grandfather didn’t serve in WW2, and my father didn’t serve in the Cold War, for my generation to let it all just slip away. I’ll fight any way I can, for as long as I can, but I’m an older man and I won’t be around much longer. We need young patriots who are #MAGA and #ChristianNationalist to pick up the torch and carry on.

That’s what I recently wrote on multiple social media platforms, and I mean every word of it. Now, I wish to elaborate…

This is the precarious position we now find ourselves in as a nation, and the Trump/Vance Administration is working feverishly (desperately actually) to try to rescue the United States from the jaws of ruin. God only knows if they will be successful, but there are things we can do (as American citizens) to help our nation in this time of great distress.

If America is to survive, then it can only survive as a Christian Nation. Secularism doesn’t work. We are seeing that play out in Europe right now, and in the years ahead it’s only going to get frighteningly worse, as we watch Europe descend into chaos. Today’s European Union is modeled after the secularism of the French Revolution, and that is a losing proposition. I don’t need to go into the details of this, as it should be apparent to anyone who is paying attention.

As I pointed out in my third book (soon to be published), the American understanding of separation between church and state is something called secularity, not secularism. The latter is a French idea. the former is American. Secularity, as opposed to secularism, is the idea that religion can influence the government, but the government cannot influence religion. Secularism is the idea that there is a “wall of separation” between the two, where neither can influence the other, and the two institutions operate in two separate vacuums, apart from each other. That is never what the Founding Fathers of the United States intended, and I proved that thoroughly in my latest book. Look forward for it to be published before the end of 2025.

In the American Republic, Christians were intended to participate — fully. Christians were intended to have complete control of their state governments, even to the point of establishing state churches, or state confession of religious faith. While the Founders made it clear that no American should ever be forced or coerced into practicing a particular religion, or professing a particular creed, they made it clear that Christianity is not the enemy of the federal republic, or any state government. At the time of America’s founding as a nation, many states had state churches, or Christian confessions, and kept some remnant of those state religions all the way up until the late 1800s. The only limit, as far as the Founders were concerned, was on the federal government, which could not establish it’s own federal church or confession, not because there would be anything anti-republic or anti-American about that, but because such a federal religion might interfere with the state religions already in place throughout the original thirteen states.

There was, however, a strong secularizing trend in the late 1800s, and throughout the 1900s, all the way up to the 1980s. This secularizing trend modeled itself after the French Revolution understanding of secularism, ditching the original model of secularity used by the Founding Fathers. That has proved to be an absolute disaster for the United States, and has brought us literally to the brink of ruin. Let me make this perfectly clear, so there are no misunderstandings about what I’m saying. If we Americans do not reverse this secularizing trend right now, there will be no United States of America for our children and grandchildren to inherit. What they will get instead will be a fractured continent, looking a lot more like Europe, with multiple countries where the United States once stood. Time has run out. The time for action is now, there can be no delay or procrastination. This is it. It’s 2025, and we have reached the end of the line. We either change course right now, this year, or we can kiss our nation goodbye.

Now, I don’t want to come across as a “Danny Downer.” There is hope — strong hope — and we conservative Christians (Catholics and Evangelicals alike) have a lot going for us right now. The Trump/Vance Administration is going to do what they need to do, and the Democrats are in total disarray. Wokeism is killing the Democrats, and they can’t extricate themselves from it, or they will lose their entire base under the age of 35. So, as it stands right now, the Democrats are damned if they stay Woke, and they’re double-damned if they abandon their Wokeism. It’s not a good position for them to be in, and that works to the Republicans’ advantage. The Republicans, however, have a long history of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, so there needs to be guidance and leadership outside of the party, steering it, or they will likely repeat this pattern. That’s where MAGA and Christian Nationalism come in.

We all know what MAGA is — “Make America Great Again” — but MAGA without Christian Nationalism is a losing proposition. We can’t “Make America Great Again” if we can’t define what “greatness” is, and in American tradition, greatness doesn’t come without a healthy and robust Christian society. So the Republican Party is not the “head” of this movement we are creating. Rather, it is just the political arm of it. The movement itself is much bigger, and it is defined by conservative Christian values and identity. The leadership of this movement is scattered and amorphous. It consists of pastors, priests, bishops, bloggers, authors, and preachers of all types. It is the gears of Christianity, spread out over the nation. There is no one person, organization or headquarters that one can define as the “head” of Christian Nationalism. It doesn’t exist. It is simply Christians, motivated and mobilized by our religious leaders, of all types, to act in political ways. That’s how it has to be. Any attempt to centralize Christian Nationalism, into a single group, organization or block, will fail. That’s not how Christian Nationalism works.

So what is Christian Nationalism. Again, I have thoroughly defined this in my third book, but until it’s published this will suffice. Christian Nationalism is simply Christians, doing what they’ve always done in American politics to make America a more just and civilized society. It is not the boogeyman that the legacy media has made it out to be, and sycophant religious leaders have distanced themselves from. It is simply Christians who hail “Christ is King” and assert that is more than just words. They act on it. Christian Nationalism is what gave us the abolition movement that ended slavery. It brought us the minimum wage and the forty-hour workweek. It stopped child labor, gave us life insurance, created better working conditions, and ended racial segregation. Christian Nationalism has gone by many names throughout America’s history, but in the end it’s always been about one thing — bringing the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ into American society, economics, law and government. The secularizing trend in America derailed Christian Nationalism for two generations — Baby Boomers and Generation X. The latter of which is my generation, but as a GenX’er, I am reclaiming my traditional Christian Nationalist roots, and calling upon all Americans, of all generations (especially the younger ones) to do the same. This is how we will save America, and there is no other way.

Here’s the really good news. Demographics are on our side. So long as we can get the illegal alien problem under control, and the Trump/Vance Administration is desperately trying to do that, then demographic studies show that the only people really reproducing in America right now are Conservative Christians (particularly conservative Evangelicals and conservative Catholics). That’s it. Liberal Leftists, of all types, are not making babies. They may be having a few here and there, but the average Liberal family size is three: mom, dad and one child. That’s it. Conservative Christian families are producing anywhere between two to five children. The math isn’t hard to figure out, and the writing is on the wall. Within one more generation, Conservative Christians will outnumber Leftists of all types.

Digging down deeper into the demographics, the trend shows only two types of Christianity becoming the dominate force in America in the upcoming generations. These will be Evangelicalism and Catholicism. That’s it. Mainline Protestantism is dying. Within just 30 years, Mainline Protestantism will be a novelty, something very rarely seen, and no longer any kind of sizable presence in American Christianity. Eastern Orthodoxy, and we Catholics love our Orthobros, for all the popularity we see on social media, is still less than 1% of the American population. It is growing, but it can’t grow fast enough to have any sizable impact on American society or politic any time in the near future. Maybe in the twenty-second century, there may be more of a noticeable presence and influence, but not in this century. Evangelicalism and Catholicism are the future of American Christianity for the remainder of the twenty-first century, and that will become more apparent as time goes on.

So the demographics are in our favor, if the illegal alien problem is brought under control, but that doesn’t mean we should become lazy or complacent. Our side is reproducing at a much faster rate, but that means nothing if we don’t pass on the Faith to our children. We have to pass on our Christian Faith to the next generation or all of this is just bluster. So do whatever it takes to keep your kids interested, seeking and practicing Christianity.

Now, since Catholics and Evangelicals will be taking over the ethos of American Christianity for the remainder of this century, and possibly beyond, there is something we can both learn from each other…

Evangelicals need to learn something from Catholics, and that is history and tradition. Evangelicals are notoriously ignorant of both, and most of them will freely admit that (to their credit). I love honesty. We all should. So to those Evangelicals willing to admit this, I say look into Western Christian history. You’ll find that much of what Catholics do has a very good historical reason. Whether you agree with that reason or not is not the point. Knowledge of it is the point. Evangelical pastors need to stop preaching fear and ignorance of Catholicism from the pulpit. Ditch the Reformation propaganda, which is highly anti-Catholic, and start teaching facts. Your congregations are hungry for a real understanding of Christian history, and let’s face it. Evangelical pastors haven’t done a very good job feeding them on this issue. Evangelical pastors, you can do better, and I believe many of you will do better, once you set your mind to it. Evangelicals cannot retake America alone. They don’t have to agree with Catholics on everything, but they should at least understand Catholics and try to work together with them. See the document Evangelicals and Catholics Together for more information on this.

Catholics need to learn something from Evangelicals too. Now, granted, Evangelicals don’t have much to offer Catholics in the way of history, tradition or doctrine. However, what they lack in this, they make up for in zeal. That’s where Catholics can learn a thing or two from Evangelicals. You’ll notice that Evangelical converts to Catholicism have ended up joining the frontline of leaders in the Church today, not just as clergy but also as internet influencers, authors and apostolate creators. Why is that? It’s because they’ve kept something left over from their Evangelical days — zeal. Catholics can take a lesson from this. How zealous are you for your Catholic Faith? Do you read your Catholic Bible every day? Do you pray the Rosary every day? Are you eager to go to Mass at least once a week? If not more? Are you eager to go to confession at least once a month? Minimally? How much time do you spend reading Catholic books, listening to Catholic podcasts, or fellowshipping with other zealous Catholics? This is what Evangelicals do in their world. Evangelical converts to Catholicism often carry these habits with them into the Catholic Church. Nothing is stopping you from doing the same. The only thing stopping you is you. So change that. Take a lead from Evangelical converts to Catholicism, and get zealous for your Catholic Faith. Seriously, how hard could that be? What have you got to lose?

For Catholics, the following is what I will recommend to not only improve your Catholic life, but also pave the way for a more Christian nation in the years ahead…

  1. Read your Catholic Bible. I strongly recommend the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible, which you can get a hardcopy HERE. It’s a hefty tome but surpassed by none as far as information and notes. It’s good to keep in your home, but not easy to travel with. For traveling, I would recommend the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible App HERE, which is free for download on any smartphone or tablet. To get the Ignatius Catholic Study Notes for both the Old and New Testaments, there is a $20 charge, which is totally worth it. To get the study notes, plus a dramatic reading function for the New Testament (good for listening to in the car, etc.) it’s $37, which again is totally worth it, that is if you actually use it. I can’t recommend this Bible and App enough for educating yourself as a Catholic, not only in the Scriptures, but also in the Catechism and historical contexts. As the Catholic Church officially teaches: “Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.” So don’t be an ignoramus. Study the Catholic Bible.
  2. Pray your Rosary every single day. You can do it all at once, or you can do just one decade at a time throughout the day. Do whatever it takes, but do it. I’ve written a guide for how to pray the Rosary HERE.
  3. If you’re not already married, find a good Catholic spouse, get married, and try to have as many children as possible. “Three before thirty,” is a common saying. Some say “four before forty,” and then some. Teach your children as they grow that “politics” is just another name for religion, but in the public square.
  4. Do not marry outside of the Catholic Faith. Make sure your spouse is Catholic, or like an unevenly yoked team of oxen, you’ll just go around in circles throughout your marriage, and your kids will have to suffer through that. They don’t need that kind of stress on their lives, and neither do you.
  5. Pray with your family, especially at meals, and with your kids at bedtime.
  6. Read the Scriptures with your family, but understanding that little children can’t easily follow along with adult Bibles, I recommend The Action Bible for young children HERE. While it’s not a full Catholic Bible, the illustrations will keep your kids minds engaged while you read the stories to them. For audio Bibles, as in the car for story time (etc.), your Ignatius Catholic Study Bible App (see above) has this feature built in if you pay the $37 to activate it. You can run that through your car speakers, and you’re ready to go. Saturate your children with the Scriptures. God’s word never returns void. Teach a child when he is young, and when he is old, he will return to it. (Proverbs 22:6)
  7. Take your kids to Mass with you, and educate them as to when the bread and wine turn into the body and blood of Christ. If you don’t know, ask your priest (before or after Mass) to tell you and your kids. They’ll love it, and the priest will probably enjoy it too.
  8. Get your kids to confession at least once a month.
  9. For heaven’s sake, get your children baptized as soon as possible, and make sure they are confirmed and receive communion as soon as your diocese will allow. DO NOT WAIT. Many Catholics have adopted the erroneous idea that you should wait until children are old enough to understand. That’s baloney! The understanding will come eventually whether they get the sacraments or not. So make sure they get them. You want them to have as much divine grace as possible in their childhood.
  10. Politically speaking, join your state Republican Party. I’m not talking about the national party (RNC). Forget about that. Get involved at the state level, where the rubber really meets the road. You’ll find your state Republican Party is usually a lot more conservative than the national Republican Party. Why do I say join your state Republican Party? It’s because we need to present a united front with other conservative Christians in politics. The Enemy (devil) wants to divide and conquer Christians, politically, that’s why the legacy media is constantly trying to pit Catholics and Evangelicals against each other, by putting out stories about anti-Catholicism among Evangelicals, and pushing the boogeyman narrative of “Christian Nationalism.”
